News: Fly Away Music Video Premiere

Rhema Soul will be premiering the new video, Monday, September 6, 2010 at 2pm, exclusively on www.rhemasoul.com.

In essence Fly Away is social commentary. Delving into themes such as infatuation, abuse, and the state of the family at large, Fly Away pulls no punches, bringing to light subject matter which is seldom discussed, particularly in gospel music.

The music video, told in a narrative format, peers into the lives of individuals struggling with issues of identity and self worth, while ultimately communicating a message of hope and acceptance.

Get strapped in. It’s time to Fly Away!

Every year there are approximately 10 youth suicides for every 100,000 youth
Suicide is the third leading cause of death among those 15-24 years old

Fatherlessness:

63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes

1 in 4 girls is sexually abused before the age of 18.
In as many as 93 percent of child sexual cases, the child knows the person that commits the abuse.

Space Cherry Films recently had one of their videos premiere on 106 & Park on BET a few weeks ago. They also shot our upcoming video, "Fly Away." As most of you know, on March 30^th we released our album, Fingerprints. The project was in the works for the better part of two years. During this time, as life would have it, we experienced a great deal of things; the births of children, the deaths of loved ones, these things. All that to say this was a project destined to have a pulse, a project made of tears and heart and bone marrow, one we hoped would be a thoughtful commentary on the human experience and a call for people of faith to leave their fingerprints on generations. Truth be told, we did not know it was going to have the impact it continues to have. We’ve been humbled by your comments and your stories. We’ve been encouraged by your generosity and challenged by those we’ve met on the road.

The fact is, we love what we do. As Rhema Soul, we are privileged to be able to travel and meet people from all different walks of life. Our craft, by the goodness of God, has provided us the platform to speak into peoples’ lives, whether in churches, clubs, colleges, etc. The purpose of this note is to not only thank you but to encourage you to grasp the idea of leaving your mark on others for the glory of God.

And it's okay to be you in the process. Be who you were made to be no matter how risky it seems at times. Be the person who will stand for truth and justice when no one else will. See what happens when you put yourself out there to be ridiculed. Empty yourself of everything so God can deem you a worthy vessel, a selfless being who wants nothing more than to see the goodness of God revealed before men.

So we found out today that we debuted at #39 on the Billboard Charts for Gospel Album. Not bad for our first time out. This album has really sparked an excitement within our camp. We've been able to see the hard work paying off, not only by the numbers on the charts but also by the emails, texts, tweets, etc. about how much the songs are already making an impact. We thrive on the success of the music making it's way into peoples hearts and hoping the message of the gospel will penetrate. Thanks so much for the support. What the group released was a slew of Twitter posts which gave a glimpse into an experiment being carried out. The rundown is this: Rhema Soul is releasing an album entitled Fingerprints on March 30, 2010 and has, as of a week ago, begun taking pre-orders for the highly anticipated project. In the midst of the immense tragedy which has occurred in Haiti, 40 South Florida artists have joined forces with The 2819 Group (LMOI) & World Vision to bring you Haiti: Revive. A corporate effort done in hopes of providing aid to the hurting country. 27 records fused with Hip Hop, R&B, Neo Soul, Latin, Reggae, and even a tradition Haitian Kompa. The compilation is great music for a great cause. "We might not have a lot of money, but we do have God given talents that we will use to provide some type of help to those hurting" - Cheno Lyfe (Miami Artist) The album will be available for download at online sites with a donation of which 100% will go to relief efforts in Haiti.

Along with the album, a hand full of the artists will embark on a 7 city Tour in the State of Florida. Each event with the identical purpose of raising funds and non-perishables for the country of Haiti. The artists will take the road pro-bono and offer their talents for the hurting country. The human fingerprint is the most uniquely identifying characteristic that the Lord created us with. Anywhere from crime scenes to banks or DMV’s, the fingerprint is used to confirm that a person is truly who they present themselves to be.
